Three standards of a “Good leaf spring”
1. Meet customer requirements – Design and develop products based on customer requirements; Develop new products simultaneously with the original equipment manufacturers (Oems).
2. Comply with industry standards – such as GB1222-2016 “Spring Steel”, GB/T19844-2018 “Technical Conditions for Leaf Springs”.
3. Good product consistency – such as: rolling thickness/width, ear hole diameter/hole spacing, heat treatment hardness/arc height, assembly arc height/stiffness/fatigue life, etc.
Five guarantees of a “Good Leaf spring”
1. Scientific/Professional design.
2. High-quality raw and auxiliary materials.
3. Excellent process equipment.
4. Strict production process control.
5. A sound quality inspection system.
The spring flat steel must possess the following characteristics
It should have a high yield limit and a high elastic limit, especially a high yield-to-tensile ratio (the ratio of the yield limit to the tensile strength), to prevent the leaf spring from undergoing permanent deformation under high loads.
2. It should have a high fatigue limit to prevent fatigue failure of the leaf spring under long-term vibration and alternating stress.
3. It has certain impact toughness and plasticity.
4. It has excellent hardenability to prevent the formation of pearlite and ferrite structures in the core during quenching, which would significantly reduce the elastic limit.
5. Good surface quality to avoid the generation of fatigue sources.
